Founders of DTVBNYC

Two years ago we realized that there just wasn’t enough quality volleyball being offered in NYC. We saw a need for another form of training that would allow not just for youth, but adults as well, to learn and grow their skills in volleyball.

After working together as club coaches, and at a DIII University in New York City, Coach Dallianna Toussaint and Coach Tyce Dagel decided to create a volleyball organization to provide opportunities for all people to learn, excel at, and love volleyball.

The name DT Volleyball doesn’t mean just one message, however it was started with the location (Down Town Brooklyn) of our first lessons. It became cemented by the combined initials of Dallianna and Tyce, and oddly enough, our last names as well.

Our Coaches

Dalliana Toussaint

Dalliana Toussaint is from Brooklyn, NY. She was always involved in sports from a young age, but the love for volleyball started when her dad introduced it to her at 16. She didn't know much about the sport, but with her athleticism and competitive mindset, she picked up the skills very quickly. From this moment on Dalli was fully engulfed in volleyball; she became captain of her high school volleyball team and took her team from a developmental program straight into the A division in PSAL making huge impacts. Her senior year she also made the Empire State team which allowed her to compete against top players in the state.
After graduating high school Dalli continued her journey at the City College of New York and starting off with a bang, she was the only freshman starter, and helped her team win Championships her first year. She ended her collegiate career with many accolades and was even inducted into the CCNY Hall of Fame. After her collegiate career shefelt that she had more to give to the volleyball world and decided to take on coaching. She became the assistant coach at CCNY, and then served as head coach for two years. She was also a club coach at Asphalt Green coaching teams aged 14-18. She then moved on to coaching at Columbia Prep and then returning to the collegiate world becoming the head coach for both the men's and women's team at Yeshiva University. Coach Toussaint looks forward to spreading the love and knowledge of volleyball.

Tyce Dagel:

Coach Tyce is originally from Montana. His journey to volleyball involved his college experience where he majored in Health Enhancement (K-12 Health/P.E.). During one of his how to teach classes, the volleyball unit came up. A hitter for the DI University of Montana was also in the class and during a drill she hit him square in the face. As he fell to the floor he thought, this… is… AMAZING. He dedicated as much time as possible to learning and playing the sport until he was able to understand it and compete at a higher level.
He has coached at the CMR High School in Great Falls, Montana as the Head Freshman B Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach and volunteered for the Victor High Varsity Girls program as well (Coaching under UCLA Alum Nikki Casale) while student teaching. He then came to NYC and has coached Girls Varsity Volleyball at Grace Church School for 3 seasons, and assisted the Boys Varsity team for 2. He also coached for Asphalt Green for 1 season as an Assistant Coach to two teams, then became a Head Coach for the previous 3 seasons. He spent three years as the Assistant Coach for the Yeshiva University Macabee’s DIII Women’s and Men’s teams. He also currently coaches Adult Volleyball for the Gotham organization.
When he isn't coaching or playing volleyball, Tyce teaches P.E. at Grace Church School and also teaches Special Education P.E. at Fusion Academy Brooklyn.
